Good fishing

More and more good fish is reported. Some good fish was landed during the
week on the 50m mark. Looks like Saturday will be a blowout but the rest of
the week seems fine. Be prepared, stock up on tackle and fresh bait.

Henry Rowles from Fish Zone landed this nice shark on only 2kg line!!!
Winter nights produce a lot of good shad in Richards Bay which often, if
used for bait, leads to giant cobs.

More fish from shallow reefs

Some more good fish was landed from Richards Bay's shallow reefs. These
rubber-lips was landed by Charles Haskins. Congrats all round from team Fish
Zone

Mof grunter

Andre Venter just landed this monster mof grunter of 6,2kg of his Fishing
ski. This beauty was landed in front of Caravan park. A great catch by our
own local Afghani.

Big Stumpnose

Dandre Kilian caught this 3.5kg monster Natal Stumpnose from Richards Bay
ski boat club on a simple sardine fillet. Congrats to the Local Ausie.

Petingo madness

Richards Bay's Petingo wreck delivered yet another couple of monster
coutas over the past weekend. Lots of coutas from 20kg to 35kg was reported
by locals who took to the flat seas during the week. This here couta weighed
in at 31kg.

Fishing the Bay at night

The fishing in Richards Bay at night proofed just as productive when Henry
from Fish Zone landed this here great size perch on drift sand prawn. Some
good size shad was also landed.

Bottom fishing from fishing ski's

The local fishing-ski fisherman also shared some awesome reports of fish
they have been landing off late. Avid fisherman Christo bezuidenhout landed
these beauties from Richards bay's Kleiklip kloofie.

The big coutas is still hanging around and getting better! This is great
news as the weather for the rest of this week doesn't look bad at all. Wet

Good size cob

This here 20kg cob was landed over the weekend by Mr. Raj from "Shaky
Rocks-Naval Island" on sardine. A good sine indeed for those who hunt the
monster cob which dwell in our winter waters.

Silver for Fish Zone at Relay run

Team Fish Zone got silver for their glow baton when they took part in the annual cansa relay run during Saturday night. The 12 hour long run started at 18h00 Saturday afternoon and ended 06h00 on Sunday morning.

copper Steenbras

Yet another awesome fish (unknown to our area) landed. This here copper
steenbras is local to the south coast, not common for Richards Bay. This
shows just how good fishing has become of late.

new club leader

Moya Norval broke the ladies record at Richards bay Ski-Boat Club last
Saturday when she managed to land this beauty of a King. A well deserved
record topping the scale to 28kg. Congrats from team Fish Zone.

Slingers still doing their rounds

...the slingers is still around for those who want to come and wet a line of
the piers in Richards Bay. The Excellent fishing reports started after 6
meter swells hit the Bay 2 weeks ago.

Skipper Gert Engelbrecht from the ski boat Lekkerkry landed this lovely
Cuta of 26.8 KG at Mtunzini lighthouse on Saturday with a live Stumpnose
as bait.
